Rosebud Caregiver & Child Observation Classes with Lisa Bono

A warm and welcoming space for children aged 6 months to 3 years and their caregivers

Cedarwood’s Rosebud classes provide a haven for parents and caregivers who seek the support of a small class community and wish to deepen their understanding of the spirit consciousness of the young child in their care.

In our weekly gatherings, we focus on gentle observation, meaningful conversation, and cultivating our perception of the needs of the young child. Children engage in self-initiated play and movement which lay the foundation for healthy attachment, self-regulation, and attention.

Children will experience a simple rhythm, which includes snack and age-appropriate circle/story time, while parents engage in gentle observation sitting on the periphery of the child's play space.

Each week, we aim to support the class community with articles, contemplations, and discussions about intentional parenting topics and how the children inspire us and the world.

Questions about age ranges? Looking to attend on a specific day? Reach out to Lisa at lbono@cedarwoodschool.org.

Lisa has been working with young children and families for 20 years.

Through gentle observation caregiver classes inspired by the work of Emmi Pikler and the insights of Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf Education, Lisa supported the growth of three Waldorf School initiatives in the greater NYC Metro area, including being the founding teacher at the New Amsterdam School. Later Lisa and her husband moved to Kathmandu, Nepal, where they lived for three years.

Lisa is the co-founder of Sano Taraharu (“Little Stars of Nepal”), an organization working in orphanages and children’s homes in Kathmandu. She is also the primary author of the EduCareDo early childhood subject course, Laying Foundations Towards Inner Freedom in the Young Child.

Lisa is very grateful to have been in community with and striving to serve Cedarwood Waldorf School for the last 5 years. She believes that the first three years of life are the most foundational and wondrous and looks forward to supporting the caregiver classes and families with very young children at Cedarwood.
