Micha-el the Victorious!
The Micha-El festival gives us the courage to face our inner darkness of doubt, antipathy, apathy, and fear. Even more importantly, like Micha-El’s sword meeting the dragon, it calls forth our inner light of truth and the power of love to lead us through the darkness.
Our community loves gathering together to celebrate Micha- El at the start of the new school year. The heart of this festival and the recognition of the being Micha-El are universal. The battle between darkness and light has been waged since the beginning of humanity. The Micha-El Festival and the play of Micha-El performed by the grades students is a depiction of lightness defeating the darkness. It is our annual calling forth of goodness over evil. Micha-El has been referred to by different names throughout time in different cultures and religious traditions.
After the dragon is in unity with humanity, families are invited to enjoy the afternoon with their student and the Cedarwood community by bringing a picnic and playing in the park. Please plan for very limited parking and consider carpooling, public transport or riding your bike to the event.
This is a half day, there will be no extended day available.
