Podcasts for Waldorf Families
We are happy to be able to share this resource with our families and others who may be curious about Waldorf education or just enjoy listening to good podcasting! We’ve compiled a list of podcasts, some for adults and some for families and children. The podcasts created for adults that we highlight are all Waldorf-related, including parenting focused and education focused options, and one that shares the perspectives of two Waldorf alumni who are also teachers.
The family-friendly, story-based podcasts are not Waldorf specific, but cover a variety of world folktales, moral stories, and science-based learning and have been enjoyed by Cedarwood families. All ages are invited to enjoy these podcasts.
For parents, caregivers, and adults:
We Nuture: Waldorf Inspired Parenting
This parenting podcast empowers parents on their journey by exploring what it means to nurture and be nurtured with mindfulness and presence. Listen to learn how you can best meet your child’s developmental needs as your child grows and develops while cultivating a nurturing, joyful home life.
Waldorfy
Waldorfy serves to explore and explain Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy. In most episodes, I discuss topics with a Waldorf teacher, or someone with knowledge about anthroposophy, to deliver accurate, simple, interesting, information and explanations. When possible we’ll bring to attention any research or studies surrounding the topics we are exploring. My main aim is to reach parents, prospective parents, and alumni to engage them with the meaning and purpose of Waldorf Education and it’s connection with anthroposophy.
Waldorf Essentials
Who are we? I’m Melisa! A mom of five children with only two left at home. I’ve been a wife, an ex-wife and a wife again. Two of my children have spectrum struggles. My oldest has ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and my youngest has SPD (sensory processing disorder). NEVER a dull moment in the Nielsen house. I am a stroke survivor and I love my life. I love to watercolor paint, knit and embroider and have a quiet afternoon with my family.
About 14 years ago I took my study of Steiner and put it to work with other families in our series of curriculum “A Journey through Waldorf Homeschooling” and our business has grown from there.
Erik here! I’m a husband, father, entrepreneur, videographer and content creator, editor and teacher. Melisa and I decided to take a leap of faith years ago when I quit my newspaper job to pursue building Waldorf Essentials. It’s a decision we've never regretted. We are constantly bolstered by the kind words of clients whom we have helped over the years.

Hard Beeswax: Experiences in Waldorf Education - (Explicit on some episodes)
Join Waldorf alumni Matthew Burritt and Taylor Romens as they discuss — without too much reverence — their experiences and perspectives of Waldorf Education, drawing from their childhood experiences as Waldorf “lifers” and then as trained Waldorf teachers. They will be joined along the way by a variety of characters who aid them in exploring the rich culture and deep intentions behind the pedagogy.
